SRT PSA (Steve Rasnic Tem Public Service Announcement): HWA Colorado Discusses Deadfall Hotel by Steve Rasnic Tem, 7/26/26

I'm working away on my final pre-NECON blog post, but in the meantime, I have a plug for an upcoming virtual event of interest to horror fans: The Colorado chapter of Horror Writers of America will be discussing Steve Rasnic Tem's novel Deadfall Hotel at 7:30pm (Mountain Time) on July 26.

I plan to attend, and I encourage you to as well! Zoom info below.

I'm delighted to share this, because Steve is a living horror legend, and one of my top five American horror writers who's active today. I plan to dial in, and I encourage you all to do so as well. If you need an introduction to his work, well, you could do worse than check out my previous coverage of his stories (you could probably do better, too, but it's my blog):

"City Fishing"

"Elena"

"In a Guest House"

"At the End of the Day" (my review of John Shirley's "Ash" in this same post also includes a detailed discussion of SRT's "The Poor").

"Fogwell"

"Aquarium"

"Adleparmeun"

"Ice House Pond"

"The Child Killer"

If that's not enough Tem for you, I've also covered the work of his wife, the late Melanie Tem, on here as well:

"The Ice Downstream"

"Aspen Graffiti"

"The Co-op"
